FRIENDS MAKE OUR WORLD BEAUTIFUL

Different people have different perceptions about friendship. Friendship is nothing like people make it seem. I've been thinking about this lately.. Friendships have a lot to go through.

Friends come in all forms and proportions. There are the "online-only" friends who you wouldn't want to face in person. Then there are the smart ones who use their friendship with you only when they want to rant about something for two hours straight and then disappear. Then there are the life-long friends who you might see once in a blue moon but still feel that the time has not passed ever since. These are the ones that reside in our inner circle. They see us closely. Our truly true selves. Vulnerable. Naked. They see us at our worst. When we are broken into pieces and lying on the floor without a hope in the world. They know when to allow us to break down. To cry. To let it all out. And they know when to set us straight to deliver us some brutal truths that only these friendships are capable of. And they also see us at our best when we are all-happy-and-fun, when life couldn't get any better. They know us. They know what brings us absolute amusement and happiness. These are the people we count on, and they might reduce in number but that's not the end. That's just life in its constant flow. It brings peace to know that these people are always there to comfort you, in your best and worst days. 

Friendship in its true sense, is a subset of love. That's what makes it hard to sustain, it doesn't have the mercy and tolerance of love, but it still demands equal trust. But then, why not? The person who listens to all the things that we have to say about Love, Life and Therapy; the person who listens to all the stupid mistakes that we make and gives us the right advice without a strand of perpetual judgement; the person who talks to us about what maturity is, while sharing a very bad milkshake that none of us has the balls to complain about, it's all beautiful. So beautiful. Wouldn't it be a shame if it wasn't hard to get? 

Friends make this world a beautiful place to live in. They are one of the reasons that life seems sustainable. It might not be roses all the way but friendship is all about consolidating. You can't expect them to not ever hurt you. Paper lanterns don't leave the sky comfortably, but they cover the holes it has. So maybe friends are our paper lanterns, and why not? From having our back to taking all our secrets to their grave, they have just been there and they’ll continue to do so. It feels good to know that your inner circle is always there for you. To support you. To cheer you. To offer you a warm bed and a hot cup of coffee at any time of the night. To answer your calls or texts. To handle your mood swings. For everything!! It’s weird how we don’t really take a moment to appreciate our friends for all that they do for us. The definition of “friend” in its real sense doesn’t really mean that we've to choose someone from outside to be able to share our life with. One can be friends with their parents, siblings, cousins, spouse, anyone!! But whoever they are, make sure they get the recognition they deserve. They might live a thousand miles away but they surely own a place in your heart. 

Life's too short to waste any time or energy on negativity, be it in the form of friends, gossip or anything else you can think of. We're leading a life of huge ups and downs. People come and go. Things change. Shit happens. Life goes on. In this big antagonistic world, hold on to the ones who comfort you, regardless of the situations.

Frustration kicks in more often than one cares to admit. When it does, good people go to churches, better ones go to libraries, and the best ones go to their friends, as simple as that.
