YOU ARE SOMEBODY'S TYPE, DONATE BLOOD
Let’s restore faith in humanity. Donate blood, Save lives :)

Several
people believe that donating blood might be painful. Look at this young man donating blood. Does he look in pain? NO, right? There's no need to
worry about the pain as it's just a pinch which is not as bad as the pain of
the people who need it.
What
happens before you donate blood?
Before donating blood, you’d be medically
examined by the doctors to check if you are fit to donate blood. You’d also be
asked if you have gotten a tattoo done in the past six months, or were diagnosed with any diseases in the past year. Consumption of alcohol or
smoking cigarettes is also prohibited before blood donation.
What
happens after you donate blood?
About a pint of blood from your body is collected
in several test tubes and sent for testing in the laboratories. Several tests
are performed to check any kind of disease. The donor is informed accordingly
regarding the tests and its results and only the fit ones are further eligible for
donation. After the testing is done, it is stored at the blood bank and sent to
hospitals as the need may be.
You think
you'll lose blood and fall sick!?
No, these are myths and a lot of people fall for them. You won't lose blood or fall
sick or lose weight after blood donation. A human body is capable of replacing that pint of blood
within 24 hours.

create a million smiles.” - Anonymous

Health
benefits of blood donation?
Blood donation includes good health and also
reduces the risk of cancer and hemochromatosis.
It reduces the risk of damage to the liver and
pancreas. It helps in reducing obesity and improves cardiovascular health.
So, go out there, be a hero and donate blood. Don't let any fear
stop you from doing this wonderful work. Do it for yourself and do it for
someone in need. Your blood type is someone's blood type too.
World blood donation day is celebrated on June 14 every year.
